"Lonely Crows"

Photographing this small band called the Lonely Crows was on my shot list for the local paper I regularly photography for. I turned up to the gig with the camera the Nikon d90 I usually am supplied with and soon turned around and drove home to get my gear after wanting to photograph these guys a lot more than I planned. Returning, with my D300s and its best friend, 50mm 1.4 I stated shooting away, soon realising myself photographing to the rhythm of the music. Which for you other photographers might have experienced a few times before.

I also had on me, my latest toy. The GoPro hero 3 Black. This was a great opportunity to test it out.  photos and video from the GoPro, a little scroll down.

On The Set Of "THE WHOLE OF THE MOON"

For the past 3 days I have been the DOP Assistant (Director Of Photography Assistant) for a short film which is being filmed in my home town. The past few days have been big and full on. I had a little spare time on one of the scenes today, so thought i'd pull the camera out. Here are some of the images.

"Rods Rods & Rods"

Easter again and what better way to spend the night than photographing the rods. When I wasn't driving my 1969 Valiant I was on the ground capturing these fun looking images. Slow shutter, Flash and a wide lens up close. No need to say much more.

Panorama of the show and shine.

"The Irish note"

Its that time of year again. The musicians jam session playing Irish songs to kick off the John o' Brian festival. For those of you Narrandera was home to famed priest Father Patrick Hartigan (1878-1952) who published his poetry under the nom de plume John O'Brien. His best known poems include Said Hanrahan, Tangmalangaloo and Around the Boree Log. Many of his books are available at Narrandera's Visitor Information Centre. Narrandera's John O'Brien Festival has become an annual pilgrimage for many who appreciate the great humanity and humour of "John O'Brien's" poetry. More Info

For all you tech heads, Images were shot at f.4  200 sec ISO1000. There was a Nikon sb-910 placed at the end of the line of musicians to add a rim light and create shadow fore a more dramatic effect.
